Mark Jackson has presented an easy-to-follow analysis of the unprecedented indictment of the 45th President of the United States of America: Donald John Trump. There is the intentional approach of connecting the everyday American citizen with the positive impact the President Trump’s leader afforded the average citizen. Those expecting President Trump to be deterred in his quest for another opportunity to serve the nation as president with the 2024 presidential election in the horizon will be disappointed. Why? President Trump is a fighter. He will fight the current indictment. As in the past, by fighting his way through, he may yet win again

Whether or not you are a Trump fan (I am not), this book provides interesting insight into the accomplishments of his presidency and the first of what will be many indictments for his various criminal activities. A quick and easy read.

Jackson did a good job of summarizing Trump’s accomplishments as well as the things that were very wrong. Left open is whether the indictments against him hold merit as that is a court matter. It draws no conclusions but raises questions. As an independent, it seemed fair.

This is a well researched and thoroughly detailed perspective on Trump and his legal woes. It’s an interesting take on past events and the current political climate. If you’re looking for something evenly researched without a deliberate political lean, this is it.

I believe the public needs to know ALL the facts, especially for the coverage of important issues like this one that affect us all. This book attempts to do just that. It clearly states what has happened on both sides of the ledger, injecting less opinion and more truth. We are encouraged to actually research primary sourced documents (I would have liked to have seen a bit more cited references) to know and understand what really happened. We should look for authors and journalists who do the same, including those who exercise their Constitutional Right under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). We the People must decide. We owe it ourselves.

The author looks at the current political climate he believes is necessary to understand the indictment from all sides. He explains why an indictment is necessary to keep a president within the law, and then dives into the details of what the indictment entailed. Trump’s Indictment unravels the complexities of this political spectacle and provides an unbiased perspective on all the stakeholders as well as Trump’s chances of winning the next presidential election. The author examines various aspects of the indictment, ranging from its legality to its technicalities and its implications. The author does a remarkable job in presenting both sides of the topic, and his unbiased observation is particularly commendable. The analysis of the legal structure is clear, descriptive, and captures the essence of the indictment. The sections on the relevance and structure of impeachment are also highly thought-provoking. What stands out the most is the author’s focus on Trump’s strategy and his strategies for winning the general election, which is summed up in the conclusion.

The book begins very balanced, discussing the good and the bad of the Trump administration. Unfortunately, the next chapter discusses only the positive things. I admit there were some. But it fails to explain the reason behind some of the changes. Lower the poverty rate? Yes, the amount of those on public assistance went down. The stimulus checks were one cause, then the department lowered the poverty limit, and reduced the assistance to those in need. I have no problem with giving credit where due, but there should also be an equal amount of blame, particularly when being inside the 45th presidential administration must have been like being locked in a cage with a herd of rabid weasels.
